We’re lacing up our shoes and gearing up for the 9th annual Summer Night GLOW 5K run/walk on June 10, 2016! Every year, the Children’s Learning Center (CLC) puts together this fundraiser to support their Step Ahead Program, which benefits children with special needs and developmental delays.
The Summer Night GLOW 5K is a fun race where participants get decked out in neon and glow-in-the-dark attire to “light up the night.” There is music, a photo booth with souvenir photo strip and other fun activities on site. Throughout the race, you’ll see stations designed to keep the glow-in-the-dark fun theme going.
It’s a fun race that supports a worthy cause.
Why the Summer Night GLOW 5K?
For us, this isn’t just any race. It holds a special place in the hearts of the team at McGrath Insurance Group.
Major health issues impacted the first part of Patrick and Marcela McGrath’s son, Mark’s life. He received extensive care through the CLC for his first few years.
What is the CLC?
The CLC is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization offering care to children from birth through 60 months of age. The type of care they provide varies widely. Some children receive early intervention for learning disabilities, while others learn how to play and socialize with their peers.
The skills taught at the CLC set these children up for a lifetime of positive development.
The McGrath family is grateful for the therapy Mark received at the CLC and they want to give back so more families can experience the same care. That’s why we’re putting together a team to participate in the Summer Night GLOW 5K run/walk in support of this worthy organization.
How You Can Be a Part of the Race
Last year’s race raised $11,700. This year, the CLC hopes to beat that number and McGrath Insurance Group wants to help.
We’re putting together a team to run the race and we’d love for our customers to join us. So far, we have 11 people as members of the team and we’re eager to see that number grow.
Click here to sign up. Under “Team Name” write “McGrath Insurance Group.” You’ll automatically be registered under our team. Look for Patrick and others from the McGrath Insurance Group office on the night of the race and run with us while we support the CLC.
