Pumpkin Season Has Arrived
It’s not Fall without pumpkin. From the highly anticipated return of pumpkin spice lattes to the carving parties families host across the Lake of the Ozarks, pumpkins are a staple this time of year. To help you prepare, MECCA Farms is hosting their first annual pumpkin patch.
About the Farm
The farm is found at 425 Delmar in Roach, Missouri.
It was started by Melissa Kupfer, a personal lines agent at McGrath Insurance Group, and her family. The name came from the first initials of her entire family’s name – Melissa, Emily, Clay, Carley, and Annie Kupfer. It’s also representative of a place where many people visit or hope to visit, making it quite fitting for their farm.
The Kupfer family is well-known for their love of hands-on projects. Melissa’s husband, Clay, is in construction. Together, their family has built, remodeled, and flipped many homes. In 2013, they moved to a farm where they decided to stay. Their love of family time and the great outdoors work well on this type of property. After a friend suggested they grow pumpkins, they did! Now, they’re thrilled to open their first annual pumpkin patch.
What to Expect
There will be a wide variety of pumpkins available. They will also have a hay ride, petting zoo, corn crib, face painting, small corn maze, big slide, concessions and much more!
When walking around, make sure you pick up one of the porcelain doll varieties. A portion from all of the porcelain doll pumpkin variety will be donated to Breast Cancer research. The pink flesh isn’t only unique but it’s also a good reminder to fight back against this vicious disease.
Make a day of it and enjoy your time at the farm.
The farm opens in October every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
