Color Dash Camdenton, Missouri

There’s no better feeling than giving back to an organization in our community. One organization near and dear to our hearts is the Citizens Against Domestic Violence. This year, as a way to support this organization’s valiant efforts, a team from McGrath Insurance Group participated in the Color Dash 5k run.

3, 2, 1, Go!

Sammi Kimbler, Ann Howard, Amy Linton and Brice Kimbler each ran on a team for McGrath Insurance Group. These racers showed up at the start line at 8 a.m. in clean, white clothes. However, this cleanliness didn’t last for long.

At 10 a.m., when the race kicked off, runners quickly put their white t-shirts and clothes to the test. Soon after crossing the start line, dashes of color were sprinkled and thrown lovingly onto the runners, quickly turning their sparkling white into a shimmery array of rainbow inspired color.

Blues, pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens continued to be tossed their way, lighting up their clothing with bright, festive hues. As runners reached a new kilometer, they were met with more color-filled explosions. By the time they reached the finish line, their shirts looked more like a rainbow than the whites they started the race in.

Benefiting Citizens Against Domestic Violence

Although runners had a great time getting colorful while they ran their 5k, the cause they were supporting was never far from their minds. This year, the Color Dash 5k supported the Citizens Against Domestic Violence (CADV).

This organization serves as a shelter for people who have lived through the fear of domestic abuse and sexual violence. Education, empowerment and support are offered to victims as they cope with a terrifying home situation. The goal of the organization is to teach the community about this very real and devastating threat. By doing so, they hope to one day eliminate incidents of domestic and sexual violence.

As the McGrath Insurance Group team ran the race, they kept the people impacted by these crimes in their mind. Although it was a fun event, the cause was most powerful.
