As a local insurance agency, we have the privilege of giving back to the Camdenton community.
We do this in a variety of ways including, participating in local events and giving a portion of our sales to charities in the area. When the opportunity to apply to receive a $5,000 donation for a local charity from one of our partners, Safeco Insurance, arose, we jumped at the chance.
To apply, we had to choose one non-profit agency that fit their criteria to be the beneficiary of the Safeco Insurance donation. We chose the Children’s Learning Center (CLC). The original donation awarded was for $4,000. Then to win an extra $1,000 donation we had to ask members of the community to give a comment of encouragement on the CLC’s contestant page. We were thrilled when in just two days we were able to get enough support to win the extra $1,000 award for CLC. CLC plans to use the $5,000 donation to build a new all access outdoor playspace for children with special needs. Thank you to all those that participated!
Why the Children’s Learning Center?
The CLC does tremendous work helping children up to six years old with community integration, social skills, self-help and adaptive improvement. This is done through the work of 10 therapists who serve approximately 125 children each year. They are the only provider in the Camdenton area that provides this type of support for families.
The CLC has directly impacted the lives of Patrick McGrath and his family. Because of this, the organization holds a special spot in our hearts at McGrath Insurance Agency.
Each year, we strive to give back to them by participating in the Summer Night Glow 5K race.
We have also chosen them as the quarterly recipient for our referral program in the fourth quarter of 2016. For each referral we receive during October, November and December, we will donate $10 to the CLC.
Now, Safeco Insurance Will Donate to the CLC on Behalf of McGrath Insurance Group
Safeco Insurance recognizes independent insurance agencies who go above and beyond to give back to their community. This year, McGrath Insurance Group was chosen as a recipient for their Make More Happen Award based on their support of the CLC.
As a reward, Safeco Insurance wrote a check for $4,000. Safeco bumped up the donation amount to $5,000 after fifty people gave comments of encouragement about the work being done by McGrath Insurance Group and CLC.
Continuing to Pay It Forward
When one family at McGrath Insurance Group is helped by an organization like the CLC, we all rally around to give back. In this case, raising money was one of the easiest and best ways we could help the CLC continue to serve the children in the Lake of the Ozarks region.
“It’s comforting to know that a family who utilized our services was aware of the financial support we need to provide quality programs for other children,” said Susan Daniels, the Executive Director of the CLC.
